Maestri is a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design studio based in Dallas, Texas. Our integrated approach brings together Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Furnishings, and Landscape, allowing us to consider a home holistically from the first sketch through final installation.
Our projects are highly personal and highly detailed, combining an appreciation for architectural history and craftsmanship with a fresh and individual point of view. Project Architect / Architectural Designer
Architecture + Interior Architecture | 5–10 Years of Experience | Dallas, Texas
Maestri Studio is seeking a talented Project Architect/Architectural Designer with 5–10 years of professional experience to join our Dallas studio. This position will focus on both Architecture and Interior Architecture, with involvement in projects from initial concept through construction and completion.
We are looking for someone with a strong architectural foundation, excellent technical abilities, and an appreciation for thoughtful, highly detailed residential design. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing the architecture of a project, designing its interior architectural elements, producing comprehensive construction documents, and working through the details that ultimately define a finished home.
Our work is highly customized, and we are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in traditional architecture, architectural detailing, proportion, materials, and craftsmanship, while also being comfortable working across a range of architectural styles.
Responsibilities
Develop Architecture and Interior Architecture from initial concept and schematic design through construction documentation and project completion
Produce and coordinate comprehensive construction document sets
Develop detailed architectural drawings with a high level of accuracy and design sensitivity
Design and document interior architectural elements including millwork, cabinetry, paneling, stairs, fireplaces, trim, doors, openings, ceilings, built-ins, and other custom details
Create 3D digital models, drawings, and presentations to clearly communicate design concepts
Develop physical architectural models and 3D-printed models to study and communicate design ideas
Coordinate architectural and interior architectural design with the studio's interior design and landscape teams
Coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and craftspeople
Participate in client meetings and communicate confidently and professionally with residential clients
Participate in construction administration, including site visits, submittal review, field coordination, and resolution of design and construction issues
Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines
Take ownership of assignments and proactively move projects forward with limited supervision
Qualifications
Professional degree or formal training in Architecture
5–10 years of professional experience in Architecture and/or Interior Architecture
Strong experience producing residential construction documents and architectural details
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software
Demonstrated proficiency in physical architectural model making and 3D printing, with an understanding of scale, proportion, and material representation
Strong understanding of residential construction, materials, assemblies, and detailing
Demonstrated interest in traditional architecture and architectural detailing
Experience with custom residential architecture and interior architecture strongly preferred
Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to engage effectively and professionally with residential clients
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently to meet project deadlines
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing thoughtful, well-resolved work
