Avalon

Major renovation and addition to 1931 Tudor home with Gothic influences in the Lakewood Conservation District.  Designing a new addition, and reworking an early 2000s addition, we worked closely with the City of Dallas Planning & Urban Design and the Conservation District Guidelines to create a modern-day home which is complementary of its 1931 self.

From the paneling in the primary bath, to the Gothic Tudor arches in the library, to the leaded glass windows in the gables, no detail is spared in this beautiful home.

Maestri Studio provided full-service architecture and interior design for this project.

Judges Remark:

"We are impressed by the preservation and livability of this Tudor.  The team has thoughtfully conserved details while creating a space that works with modern lifestyles.  We love how open and light the home is and the balance of more contemporary furniture, lighting, and textiles along with the traditional Tudor details." - Jessie Carrier
