From the vibrant streets of New Orleans to the heart of Dallas, Eddie Maestri has always been captivated by design. His early fascination with the architecture of his hometown led him to sketch homes and interiors at a young age, a passion that ultimately shaped his career as a licensed architect and the principal of Maestri Studio.
“To this day, I always carry a sketchbook when I travel,” says Eddie. “It’s my way of connecting with the spaces I encounter and learning from them. Sketching is still a key part of my process. It’s how I bring ideas to life and communicate them to clients in a way that feels personal and real.”
Eddie founded Maestri Studio with the vision of creating thoughtful, custom designs that seamlessly integrate architecture and interiors. What began as a solo venture has grown into a dynamic, multidisciplinary studio known for balancing history and modernity, function and beauty. Leading a collaborative team of architects and designers, Eddie fosters an environment where independent thinking and innovation thrive. Each project, whether a historic renovation, a ground up new build, or a carefully layered interior, is tailored to reflect how clients truly live.
At the core of Eddie’s work is the belief that design lives in the space between architecture and interiors. Rather than viewing architecture as simply a layout and interiors as decoration, his approach focuses on shaping the space itself. Scale, proportion, light, circulation, and materiality are treated as tools to create immersive environments that influence how people move, feel, and live within them. This holistic perspective allows architecture and interiors to speak the same language, resulting in spaces that feel cohesive, intentional, and deeply considered.
This philosophy is further informed by Eddie’s Master’s Degree Certificate in Health Systems and Design, where he studied how environments influence physical health, emotional well being, and daily behavior. Central to this work is the concept of Invisible Design, the idea that the most powerful aspects of architecture are often the ones you do not immediately see. Light quality, sensory experience, acoustics, and spatial flow quietly shape how a space supports comfort, wellness, and human connection.
Just as importantly, Eddie approaches design through the lens of everyday life. As a father, he understands that homes are not static showpieces but living environments that must evolve alongside the people who inhabit them. Daily routines, family rhythms, growth, change, and even chaos inform how spaces should function over time. This perspective brings a practical, empathetic layer to his work, ensuring that beauty and intention are always balanced with livability and longevity.
“Our environments quietly shape us,” Eddie explains. “Good design does not just look beautiful. It supports health, comfort, and the rhythms of everyday life.”
A lifelong admirer of historic architecture, Eddie is especially drawn to the stories old homes tell. “The craftsmanship, the character, the layers of history. It is about honoring what came before while creating spaces that can carry those stories forward,” he shares. This respect for heritage, paired with a modern understanding of how people live today, defines much of Maestri Studio’s work.
With a diverse portfolio spanning classic to contemporary styles, Maestri Studio offers a full spectrum of services, including architecture, interior architecture, interior design, renovations, new construction, historic preservation, and bespoke furnishings. From restoring century old estates to designing refined modern homes, the studio’s work is rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and individuality. Under Eddie’s leadership, Maestri Studio has earned recognition from publications including Architectural Digest and House Beautiful, along with accolades for historic restoration and residential design excellence.
Beyond client work, Eddie’s passion for architectural detail has led to the creation of product collections that extend the studio’s design language. The Arcana Mantel Collection draws inspiration from architectural elements around the world, reinterpreted into sculptural fireplace mantels that blend history with modern craftsmanship. He also collaborated with Ever Atelier on the Montmartre Series, a wallpaper collection born from his hand drawn sketches, resulting in Architectural Reign, a bold and expressive design that brings movement and narrative to walls.
For Eddie and the Maestri team, design is ultimately about creating environments that tell a story. Every space is an opportunity to shape how people experience daily life, whether rooted in history or designed for modern living, but always intentional, personal, and deeply felt.
