Award-Winning Residential Design in Dallas: Maestri Studio Receives Two D Home LABL Awards

We are honored to share that Maestri Studio was recognized with two D Home LABL Awards, celebrating excellence in residential architecture and interior design across North Texas. The Claridge Court Kitchen was voted Most Beautiful Kitchen by readers, while the Swiss Avenue Parlor custom sofa received an editor’s award for Beauty in Bespoke.

These awards highlight projects that reflect our studio’s core focus: thoughtful, context-driven design shaped by process, research, and craftsmanship. From large-scale kitchens to bespoke furnishings, our work is rooted in understanding how architecture, interiors, and custom details come together to support the way people live.

Most Beautiful Kitchen: Claridge Court Residence

The Claridge Court Kitchen was awarded Most Beautiful Kitchen, recognized for its bold materiality, architectural clarity, and effortless livability.

Designed to feel unexpected, the kitchen reveals a cosmopolitan, penthouse-inspired interior behind a historic-inspired exterior. The concept was informed by the character of converted manufacturing warehouses, where utilitarian skylights became defining architectural features. Photos collected during work trips to New York City inspired the kitchen’s dramatic skylights, evoking the light-filled atmosphere of European orangeries while remaining grounded in function.

A green marble island anchors the space, paired with a custom brass range hood and antique mirror that captures light throughout the day, bringing movement and life to the room. Accordion windows open directly to the patio, blurring the line between indoors and out and reinforcing the idea that a family kitchen can be both sophisticated and welcoming.

This project exemplifies Maestri Studio’s belief that great kitchen design balances beauty with performance, layering architectural detail, material richness, and daily usability into a cohesive whole.

Beauty in Bespoke: Swiss Avenue Parlor Custom Sofa

Maestri Studio was also honored with the Beauty in Bespoke award for a double-sided custom sofa designed specifically for the Swiss Avenue Parlor, a historic 1920s residence.

Conceived as functional architecture rather than standalone furniture, the sofa acts as the centerpiece of the room. Anchored by a custom wood-and-brass center console, it organizes circulation, creates distinct conversation zones, and connects the space visually and socially.

The design process began with an initial sketch drawn by Eddie Maestri while traveling in Amsterdam. Early studies explored the elegance of 19th-century drawing rooms, but those references alone felt incomplete. To ensure the piece belonged authentically within the home, bold Art Deco geometry was introduced as a direct response to the residence’s 1920s origins.

The result is a sculptural, double-sided sofa that bridges eras and disciplines, blending art, furniture, and architecture into a single bespoke element tailored specifically to the room and the way it is used.

Design That Begins with Process

These LABL Awards wins reflect more than finished spaces; they celebrate process-driven design. At Maestri Studio, every project begins with research, sketching, and a deep understanding of context. Inspiration gathered through travel, historical study, and lived experience is refined through careful iteration until the final design feels inevitable rather than imposed.

Whether designing a kitchen or a custom piece of furniture, our goal is always the same: to create spaces that are layered, intentional, and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them.

Design Led by Process and Context

These LABL Awards wins represent more than finished spaces. They reflect a design philosophy rooted in curiosity, iteration, and respect for architectural context. Each project begins with research, sketching, and a deep understanding of place, then evolves through layered decision making until the final result feels cohesive, intentional, and enduring.

Whether working within a historic residence or designing a new home from the ground up, our goal is to create spaces that balance beauty with livability and feel distinctly right for their setting. We believe the most successful residential projects are those where architecture, interiors, and bespoke elements are developed together from the start.
