Double Take

Double Take - the 42nd Annual Lakewood Home Festival

If you missed our Delrose project on the 2018 AIA Dallas Tour of Homes, here is your second chance to check it out!   Maestri Studio is honored to have homes featured on the Lakewood Home Festival Tour for the fifth year since 2012!  This year we have two homes open to the thousands of patrons; 6933 Delrose and 6927 Pasadena.

6933 Delrose Drive

This home was designed in 1979 by architect David Ludwick and was his families’ home until 2016.  The house was well thought out and progressive for its time.  Expanses of glass overlooking a creek and tree tops bring in an abundance of tree-filtered natural light.  The well-thought attention to detail is as evident as the amount of pride that Mr. Ludwick must have felt for the home.  As any home from the late seventies, there were dated elements, but it was importance to us and the new owners to carefully choose to update the areas needed by not making the common mistake of erasing the past.  After all, the details considered dated today are what preservationist will treasure tomorrow.  Our work focused mainly on the kitchen (and adjacent spaces), opening the kitchen more to the exterior, as well as an overall exterior makeover and landscaping.  We replicated some of the original details for consistency, but added some of our own drawing from inspirations of the period and more broadly mid-century modern design.  Some of our favorite design additions are the custom front doors that have an eye-catching brass starburst as well as an interior modular grow wall.

6927 Pasadena Avenue

The interior design for this modern Lakewood home reflects the personalities of its fashion-forward occupants.  Maestri Studio provided full-service interior design including custom furniture, bedding, pillows, draperies, as well as interior finish selections such as tile and lighting.    Additionally, we also provided full service consulting on re-framing, placing and overseeing the installation of the clients' entire fine art collection throughout the house which features original pieces from prominent South American artists as well as antique Portuguese tiles, folk art pieces and colorful tribal masks from world travels.

We love Lakewood and we love this great event benefiting Lakewood Elementary, JL Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.

Maestri Studio is a proud Silver Sponsor for 2018.

The Home Tour will take place Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11 from 11am-5pm.  For more information, please visit
